Laurie Lipton
"Black and white is the color of ancient photographs and old TV shows… it is the color of ghosts, longing, time passing, memory, and madness. Black and white ached. I realized that it was perfect for the imagery in my work.”

And she makes these using pencil. Pencil!
Crazy.

Inspiration
This is from a blog called http://lucidrose.blogspot.com/, some quite weird pictures but I really liked a lot of them.
Finding it really difficult to research artists at the moment, thought I'd got one the other day only to look down the page a bit more to see that she'd done a whole section on rocks. Seriously. Rocks. Was very peculiar.
Not even good rocks either.
Just pebbles really.
Anyway, so that was the end of that.
Gillian Johnson
While doing some research for the project on Leeds where we all have to make a book I literally stumbled across this lady. She is amazing. Love her.

Definitely going to make my book as amazing as hers.
I will definitely try to make my book as amazing as hers.

The First Post
This is what I've been dreading for quite a while now, starting my blog.
Starting a project about Leeds so am collecting a few inspirations along the way- some of them I've loved for a long time, others I have just found...
Ok to start off- an obvious one, Quentin Blake. This is the guy that literally illustrated my childhood. In vaguely creepy ways but oh well. Bless him.

Love it.
